We live in a world where the tools necessary for a successful career become increasingly more complex and more demanding. I believe that lifelong learning is one of the “keys” for a significant and successful professional course. However, knowledge, along with the right attitude and passion, becomes a great skill for the external environment we live in and interact with, an ability that in turn becomes the greatest internal motivation for progress. Through my many years of contribution to WSPC I feel sure of our work towards obtaining both!

Andreas Matthidis DipWSET – Vice Head of WSPC Education and Principal of WSPC Spirits School, is a Senior Lecturer of all WSPC’s educational programmes in Wine, Spirits and Sommellerie as well as of the BSA Coffee, Cocoa, Tea programme. In 2013 he achieved the coveted title of QGrader in Coffee Industry field.
Since June of 2008 he has been working at the company ”W.B. Karoulias S.A.” as an Education & Development Consultant of Wines, Spirits and Coffee.

Andreas Matthidis DipWSET graduated with honours from the Higher School of Tourism in Rhodes (ASTER) in 1983 and in 1988 from Athens University of Economics (formerly ASOEE) as well as the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines & Spirits (DipWSET).

From 1983 until 1987, he held a managerial position at the hotel “Atheneum Intercontinental” specializing in F&B as well as costing.

From 1998 until 2000 he was the General Manager of ‘Platis Catering’ and from 2000 until 2005 he served as the Administrative Director at the headquarters of Kyriakos Filippou Group of Companies (FAGE, EVGA, MORNOS, ELBISCO).

From 2005 until 2008 he was the General Manager of ‘Oenotria Land’ Domain Kostas Lazaridis.

Since 2005 he is has been the President of the Association of Greek Sommeliers of which he is a founding member. During the period 2005-2008 he was also a member of the Board of Directors of the World Association of Sommeliers.

Since 2008 a member of the current Board of Directors of the Chain Des Rotisseurs Greece.
