Basic principals
The purpose of this information is to help our students understand basic principles of behavior that must be observed during classes.
The classroom must offer a friendly and harmonious environment, capable of promoting the qualitative learning development of our students, ensuring the smooth flow of the lesson and respect for all participants – students and lecturer.
Don’t miss classes.
It has been proven that students who do not miss classes and are consistent in their attendance are more likely to pass exams – and with a higher grade. It is the students’ personal responsibility to fill in the blanks and look up notes, exercises, homework and/or wine flights related to the course.
Don’t be late for class.
It is a sign of respect for your classmates and your instructor. In the event that this occurs due to special circumstances, students should enter the classroom in the most discreet and prompt manner and sit at the first available desk.
Come prepared to class.
Preparation is an important part of your effort to better understand the course material and have fewer questions. Students who submit assignments within the specified time frame manage to maintain a better flow in their studies and consolidate the material, significantly enhancing the chances of passing the exams – and with a higher grade. Assignments that are not submitted by the deadline will not be accepted late. However, there will be the possibility of correction at home by the student himself, having as a guide the appropriate way of answering given for each assignment.
Turn off your cell phone at the start of class.
It is a sign of respect for your classmates and your instructor. Using mobile phones in class is extremely disruptive and distracting, both yours and those around you. If you are expecting an urgent call, please inform your instructor at the beginning of class and leave your device on silent mode. Once you receive the call, leave the room discreetly.
Please note that the use of any portable electronic device is not permitted during class (mobile phone, laptop, MP3 player, etc.). Videotaping, recording and photographing any material given during class, including class presentations, is prohibited, as they are subject to copyright.
For your own use, you may photograph the bottles tasted in the tasting at the end of class (the bottles remain in a visible place).
Don’t talk to each other.
It is a sign of respect for your classmates and the instructor. The noise caused by such conversations may distract the instructor and other students, disrupting the flow of the lesson.
Don’t deprive other students of the opportunity to express their concerns by asking too many questions yourself.
Questions promote better understanding of the lesson. It is at the discretion of each lecturer to allocate time for questions (either during or at the end of the lesson). However, students should take into account the available time and not monopolize the lecturer by giving their classmates the opportunity to submit their own questions.
THE ABOVE PRINCIPLES ALSO APPLY DURING THE EXAMS
