
Roussakis Elias
Elias Roussakis was born and raised in Piraeus.
He studied at the Agricultural University of Athens, specializing in Viticulture, and conducted a research project on the root system of the vine.
He continued for a master’s degree at SupAgro Montpellier and at ENITA de Bordeaux, with a scholarship from the French state, and at the same time obtained the French state oenologist degree, DNO.
He worked at Montagne St Emillion, in Santorini (Sigala Estate, Hatzidakis Winery), in Tinos (T-Oinos) and finally co-founded Basaltis Vineyards, in Santorini, where he worked as production manager for a decade.
Since 2013, he has been advising wineries in Tinos, Paros, Kos, Naxos, Syros and Troizina on vineyard management, winemaking and strategic planning. He has participated in regulatory committees for the PDO Santorini wine, in international wine competitions and as a columnist for wine industry publications.
He lives in Athens with his family.
