WSPC AND EDOAO BRING APRIL TO GREECE
WORLD CLASS SOmmeliers and Professionals, FROM 22 COUNTRIES,
TO OBTAIN THE TOP CERTIFICATIONS IN WINE AND WINERY
From April 8 to 16, Greece will once again become a magnet for world class professionals in the wine industry.
For one week, the famous wine destination of Santorini will host 70 professional Sommeliers and wholesale executives to attend three different WSPC programs: the WSET Diploma in Wines, the CMS Advanced and the CMS Intro & Certified Course.
Through this synergy of WSPC with the international educational organizations Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) and Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS) in Greece, the wine industry of our country is given the opportunity to further enhance the recognition of the Greek Wine Brand to a targeted audience of ambassadors who co-shape trends and drive a significant part of global wine consumption.
In the program of hosting all these professionals, the Greek Wine Brand – through its superior sectoral body, the National Interprofessional Organization of Vine and Wine (EDOAO), will have a leading position.
In honor of the students and the three educational programs, dinners will be held under the auspices of EDOAO, with Greek Winemakers – members of EDOAO, offering selected labels. At the same time, the Greek winemakers will offer a series of experiential experiences to the students, combining the uniqueness of the landscape and its history with the uniqueness of the terroir of the wines of Greece.
The importance and uniqueness of what is about to happen in Santorini is such that the “presence” will be given by both the President of WSPC, Mr. Konstantinos Lazarakis MW (Master of Wine) and seven (7) MSs (Master Sommeliers).
The countries from which leading winemakers and industry professionals will be hosted are the following: Greece, Australia, France, Germany, Denmark, India, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Qatar, China, Cyprus, Malta, Great Britain, South Africa, Norway, Netherlands, Peru, Russia, Skopje/North Macedonia, Turkey.
A few words about EDOAO:
The National Interprofessional Organization of Vine and Wine (EDOAO) is the leading body in Greece for the vine and wine. It was formed and is composed of representatives of the production, processing and marketing of vine and wine products. The purposes of EDOAO vary. They start from the close monitoring of the wine market and reach the effort to maintain and develop economic activities of the wine sector, in order to improve its knowledge and organization at every level: from primary production (vineyard) and processing (winemaking), to marketing. EDOAO also aims to raise awareness of public opinion and institutions regarding the economic, social, environmental and cultural importance of wine products.
