In the Wine Dark Sea – Documentary Screening
Chrysa Tzortzaki’s documentary “In the Wine Dark Sea” deals with the presentation of local grape varieties, the unique wines produced from them, and highlights the temperament of the people who put their personal touch on the wines of Crete.
The documentary includes interviews with important Greek and foreign scientists, oenologists, viticulturists, winemakers and experts in the field of wine, filming in vineyards and wineries of Crete as well as in important locations in America, such as New York and Washington.
Its screening will take place at WSPC on May 25 (18:30-20:00).
The documentary’s creator, Chrysa Tzortzaki, will be in attendance at WSPC and will be available for a brief Q&A at the end of the screening.

Starring Professor Emeritus of the Agricultural University of Athens Manolis Stavrakakis, Konstantinos Lazarakis MW, Assistant Professor of the Agricultural University of Athens Maritina Stavrakakis and the winemakers: Maria Titaki, Nikos Gavalas, Giorgos Lyrarakis, Lefteris Digenakis, Emmanouela and Niki Paterianakis, Zacharias Diamantakis, Stelios Klados, Alexandra Manousaki, Afsin Molavi, Andreas and Antonis Dourakis, Apostolos Alexakis and Archimandrite Ambrosios Skarvelis.
They are co-starring with Assistant Professor and Director of the Vitiology Laboratory of the Department of Plant Production Science of the Agricultural University of Athens, Aikaterini Biniari, agronomist Nikos Somarakis, oenologist Manthos Gialitakis, the late Abbot of Toplou Monastery, Fr. Philotheos, musicians Nikos Vlatas and Vasilis Xylouris, as well as sommeliers, oenophiles and wine experts from America.
